The Courage to Ask: Why Feedback Fuels Your Success

I think I sing well. Sometimes I record my voice to listen, and I cringe.

I think I’m a fun dad. Sometimes I ask my kid and all I get is an eye roll.

I think I’m a good husband. About that, I never dare to ask.

You see asking for feedback is stressful. It does take courage. It can be humbling.

But it’s also a sign of maturity. We’re not perfect and we all have blind spots. When you seek feedback, you raise your hand to take ownership.

Staying in your own little bubble of how the world sees you won't get you anywhere.

If you want to fast track your success, then be prepared to ask for frequent feedbacks.

Before you ask, get yourself in the right head space though. Be prepared to accept it with grace. Or it can hurt.

Ask those who know your work and whose opinions you trust.

Ask what could you do better, how could you do better. Be open ended and probe for clarity.

Clarity is what you need to succeed in life and feedbacks give you just that!
